Artisan Kirpans - The World's Finest Kirpans
Frameless (lightweight) micarta Artisan Kirpans$150.00
Large frameless Kirpans have a 6 inch/15.2cm blade (11.75inch/29.8cm overall length, including handle) have come in answer to the request for a lighter weight Large Kirpan and come in ivory color only presently - with no intention to restock other colors.
We have Compact frameless Kirpans (click center image below main image - item AA) in black only that have a 3 inch/7.6cm blade and are 5.75 inches/14.6cm in overall length, including the handle.
We are pleased with their visual appeal and solid craftsmanship. We have removed the stainless steel frame, tip and throat from the scabbard. The scabbards have been riveted and pinned together for durability and longevity. The Kirpan and scabbard total weight is approximately .75 lbs./.34kg - a full 1/2 pound less than our normal large Kirpans, which we are still offering. These Kirpans are sharp. Our feeling is why bother to carry a Kirpan that is not?
Each large frameless Kirpan package comes with 1 Kirpan in the micarta color of your choice (micarta is a durable and handsome phenolic resin impregnated into layers of cloth, canvas or paper): A - ebony (black), or B - ivory* colors. Ivory color is a bit more expensive because it takes longer in the finishing/polishing process. Also included (with Compact Black Kirpans also) are 1 Kirpan strap in black and gray or white and gray, in adjustable or non-adjustable length, an embroidered zipper pouch and a 16 page full-color booklet. The 16 page 4”x6”/ full-color booklet includes comprehensive details of the Artisan-made kirpan, inspired history and significance of the kirpan, and milestones, awards, images and particulars of significant works produced through Khalsa Kirpans.

*Different than the black micarta we use, ivory is not available in linen or canvas, and comes in "paper" based material. This is a very handsome handle/sheath material (akin to real ivory in appearance) yet may be more susceptible to chipping or cracking upon forceful impact with very hard surfaces (concrete, stone, metal, etc.) As with all of our kirpans, such damage is not covered under our existing warranty, but in many cases repairs can be made through or by Khalsa Kirpans at extra cost. Over the years, ivory micarta may also yellow some - a phenomenon not uncommon with contemporary and ancient "tusk" ivories.
These Kirpans are sharp. We wonder why you would bother to carry a Kirpan that is not?
